Annually, California production is exported to 90 countries worldwide and the (currently) EU-28 represents approximately one third of California’s almond exports.
Hence, TradeScope has had some large success stories from our annual trip to California and New Mexico, when we take a group of Europeans to meet with dried fruit and nut producers. As a direct result of the trip in December 2015, a Dutch participant (snack manufacturer) bought 20 containers of almonds from a California handler.
They met when the handler offered a seat to the Dutchman at his table at the Almond Board Gala dinner. The approximate value of the 20 containers was $4.5 million.
