Tradescope’s man-about-town in Germany, Jörg van Wershofen, got back from ISM Cologne with some interesting feedback.
His major take-away from the show was that it was smaller than usual but still an excellent event. Obviously, Covid had a major hand in keeping some exhibitors away, presumably some either did not book a stand or cancelled it due to the Omicron variant surging through Europe and the States. However, Jörg observed that many such companies did send representatives to meet with their international contacts.
For all the reasons stated above, there were also fewer visitors than previous years, though exhibitors did observe that they got many good leads in spite of the lower visitor footfall.
From a Covid-prevention post of view, ISM’s hygiene concept worked very well and the show was spacious and airy with plenty of free space and wide aisles.
All in all, Jörg felt it was a strong show that will only get stronger again as Covid recedes in the years to come.
